Q. When did you join the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra?

January 2005

Q. What was your earliest musical experience?

Hiding behind the sofa in fear whilst listening to Peter and the Wolf with my mum! I also remember listening to my dad's recording of Jack Brymer playing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto and deciding at a very early age that that was the instrument for me.

Bassoon

Q. What would you most like to do if you weren’t a musician?
A.
I can honestly say that I am in my dream job right now and wouldn't change it for the world. But other fantasy careers would be: professional chocolate taster, wine expert, someone who travels round the world reviewing bars and restaurants, a reviewer of roller coasters... More realistically, I really enjoy organising things so maybe some kind of events manager.

Q. What’s on your record/CD/MP3 Player/Spotify Playlist right now?
A
. Stevie Wonder

Q. What is your favourite Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra recording?
A.
Shostakovich 9

Q. What is your most memorable moment with the Orchestra so far?
A.
Our woodwind section's choreography to "Soul Bossa Nova" in the recent schools concerts with Alistair Malloy.

Q. What do you like to do with your free time outside music?
A.
I love eating out, going to the pub, dancing (especially salsa but really I'll dance to anything!), cinema, theatre, gym, reading and making soup.

Q. What do you like most about Liverpool?
A.
My favorite place in Liverpool is Hope Street. The restaurants (The Quarter and Side Door especially), theatres, bars (love the Philharmonic Pub and the Casa is great for Salsa on a Thursday after our concerts!), occasional farmers' market and of course the Philharmonic Hall
