A.
May 2001.

Q. What was your earliest musical experience?   
A
. Conducting along with the New Year's Concert from Vienna on TV, aged 17 months.

Q. If you could play a different instrument, which one would it be?   
A.
Difficult to answer since I play the best instrument of all... perhaps the theremin.

Q. What would you most like to do if you weren’t a musician?   
A.
Have my own vineyard with a motor race track next to it.

A. Muse
Absolution (for me) and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (for my baby boy).

Q. What is your favourite Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra recording?    
A.
Strauss' Alpine Symphony.

Q. What is your most memorable moment with the Phil so far?   
A.
Changing my 5 day old baby's nappy at the back of the Phil hall, while Simon Rattle was rehearsing Wagner on stage.

Q. What do you like to do with your free time outside music?   
A.
Spending time with my son and wife, walking in the Lake District and visiting my native Austria.

Q. What do you like most about Liverpool?   
A.
Architecture, flair, people, shopping... in no particular order.
