Vasily in Rome
13 – 18 January 2011
Next January Vasily makes his conducting debut with the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (the Italian National Orchestra).Rome in wintertime is an enchanting city – empty of the tourists that congest it for most of the year and often having cool but bright days. The Forum can be visited at a leisurely pace, Campo dei Fiori shows its real charm with the morning market full of fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers from Calabria & Sicily, Piazza Navonna and the Spanish Steps are actually passable and enjoyable!
We will fly from Manchester via Zurich with Swiss (to avoid 4am starts with Ryanair for this tour) and stay 5 nights at the charming 3* Hotel Santa Anna situated in the heart of the ‘Borgo’ less than fiveminutes walk to St Peter’s. We hope to have an evening of opera or ballet as an option (once the Opera di Roma announce their 2010/11 season) and we will have a full programme of sightseeing. We will have 2nd category tickets for Vasily’s concert with Santa Cecilia, a welcome dinner, one lunch and a full programme of sightseeing (2 morning walking tours and a visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel).
We are taking registrations for this holiday now and will send deposit invoices as soon as the music programme is confirmed.
Cost per person sharing a twin/double room: £995
Cost for single occupancy of double room: £1195
