Q. What is your instrument/ position/ job title in the Orchestra?
A. First Violin.
Q. When did you join the RLPO?
A. I first joined the orchestra in 1966, I left in 1975 and joined the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. I ended up in Het Gelders Orkest in Arnhem Holland for three years. I re-joined the Phil in 1981.
Q. What was your earliest musical experience?
A. Hearing some terrible pop music on the radio when I was about nine years old. Decided to become a classical musician as a result.
Q. If you could play a different instrument, which one would it be?
A. Piano.
Q. What would you most like to do if you weren’t a musician?
A. Banker.

A. Spohr Violin concerto No. 11.
Q. What is your favourite RLPO recording?
A. There are many, very difficult to pick. Strauss 'Heldenleben', Suk 'Asrael' Symphony, Tchaikovsky Manfred Symphony.
Q. What is your most memorable moment with the Phil so far?
A. There are too many, but possibly playing in New York for the first time in 1991.
Q. What do you like to do with your free time outside music?
A. Meet my friends in the pub. I have an interest in old clocks.
Q. What do you like most about Liverpool?
A. The waterfront.
