Q. When did you join the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra?
A. September 2009
Q. What was your earliest musical experience?
A. A visit to my primary school by a recorder player which sparked a desire in me to play. I nagged my parents and started learning equipped by a plastic recorder and Tune a Day book 1.
Q. If you could play a different instrument, which one would it be?
A. I think it would be fun to play the timpani. Such a dramatic role!
Q. What would you most like to do if you weren’t a musician?
A. Some sort of counselling or maybe working with young children in some way.
Q. What’s on your record/CD/MP3 Player/Spotify Playlist right now?
A. The last thing I listened to was a wonderful recording of the Sibelius violin concerto with Pecca Kuusisto.
Q. What is your favourite Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra recording?
A. Since I am such a new member that is hard to say. I am sure I will enjoy listening to Petrenko's recording of the Shostakovitch symphonies some of which I played on
Q. What is your most memorable moment with the Orchestra so far?
A. I will long remember sheltering from the pouring rain whilst accompanying the pub singers of the year down by the docks!
Q. What do you like to do with your free time outside music?
A. I enjoy reading and spending time drinking coffee with my friends. Mostly I seem to spend a lot of time driving!
Q. What do you like most about Liverpool?
A.It's the most diverse city I know. The people are very friendly and I love the dock area.
