Electricity: OMD with the RLPO
On Saturday 20 June 2009, 80’s synth-pioneers Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark realised a 30 year dream at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Performing a sold out concert with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, OMD’s unmistakable back catalogue was inventively transcribed for the 75 strong orchestra.
The concert began with the orchestral premier of collaborative audio-visual installation The Energy Suite and continued with a sequence of cinematic images especially created for the occasion by filmmaker Hambi and artist Peter Saville.
