School Workshops & Residencies
We offer tailored creative music making, performance, composition and singing programmes to schools across musical genres from first time introductory experiences through to multi-year residency programmes. This enhances curriculum delivery and supports extended services and learning outside the classroom.
For example, through our Children & the Arts programme for Key Stage 3 in 2008/9, working with secondary schools and academies, we provided inclusive, creative and rewarding experiences to all pupils consisting of talks by orchestra players, rehearsal and lunchtime concert visits to Philharmonic Hall. This was supported by a comprehensive series of music workshops delivered in schools.
Through Find Your Talent, we are working with a range of music partners and secondary schools in Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens to review and improve the Key Stage 3 music offer across musical genres. This work is supported by an extensive piece of evaluation and research examining improvements that can be made to infrastructure, communication and training in Merseyside to improve the musical experiences and progression routes for young people.
