Liverpool Philharmonic Training Choir & Melody Makers
Director: Alison White
Liverpool Philharmonic Training Choir (age 9-12) and Melody Makers (age 7-9) offer an excellent introduction to choral singing. The choirs sing a wide range of enjoyable and exciting music with performance opportunities throughout the year at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and other venues.
Recent performances include the premiere of Michael Nyman's Hillsbrough Memorial - Symphony No. 11 with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra at Liverpool Cathedral in July 2014 and The Big Proms Bear Hunt for the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in September 2013. This performance was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
Both choirs perform every Christmas in an extremely popular series of family concerts at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, alongside the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
As well as receiving outstanding choral training under the direction of Alison White, Liverpool Philharmonic Training Choir and Melody Makers benefit from weekly sessions of general musicianship and sight-singing.
