Liverpool has one of the nation's finest youth orchestras in the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, which has consistently turned out well trained and exceptionally skilled musicians. The orchestra will celebrate its 65th anniversary in the 2015/16 season.
Members of the orchestra benefit from strong links with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, whose members tutor the young musicians. International artists regularly work with Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and in recent years this has included Christian Lindberg, Andrew Manze, Julian Lloyd Webber and Chief Conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Vasily Petrenko .
Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra performs in three concerts each season at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, tackling some of the most exciting and challenging pieces in the symphonic repertoire.
