Highlights include a celebration of James Bond with Carl Davis and music from films including Goldfinger and From Russia with Love; superstar violinist Pavel Šporcl and Conductor Laureate Libor Pešek taking us on a Journey through Bohemia with Smetana and Sarasate; and conductor John Wilson, following on from the success of 2012's Yeomen of the Guard with an entertaining evening of Gilbert and Sullivan, including a complete performance of Trial by Jury.
Vasily Petrenko conducts an evening of Russian classics, including Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 with pianist Alexandra Dariescu, in this year's stirring White Nights, while making a welcome return with your favourite excerpts from the musicals are the Three Phantoms, including the current UK tour Phantom Earl Carpenter. And no Summer Pops would be complete without Carl Davis conducting operatic favourites in Last Night of the Summer Pops, joined this year by fabulous new vocal group Amore.
