RLPO Live presents the strikingly individual sound of Liverpool composer Richard Gordon-Smith
Three of his works are performed by the RLPO and RLP Choir, singers Claron McFadden and Martyn Hill, and two most distinguished conductors.
Overture NOW (National Orchestra Week) celebrates the work of the great British orchestras; Hotfoot on Hope Street takes the listener on a tour of Liverpool’s Arts Quarter. The oratorio Lowlands Away commemorates the loss at sea in 1895 of the composer’s great-grandfather, and the recording is dedicated to the memory of Liverpool artist and poet Adrian Henri, who crafted the poems for the work.
"No audience can remain unmoved by this masterly composition"
