David Jephcott is an entirely self-taught composer and pianist who began composing music to escape the stresses of his commercial and academic life in the 1990s.
He uses modern music technology to produce his memorable melodies and then collaborates with a team of skilled arrangers to produce the finished work.
Two choral compositions of David’s were performed at the Classic FM Christmas concert in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral in 2002, followed in 2004 by another, the hymn When I am called to Thee, by the internationally-renowned Fron Male Voice Choir. Also in 2004 the pianist Robin Hutt gave a performance of works by Jephcott in the Edinburgh Fringe, a concert so successful that it was subsequently repeated in Manchester.
Born in Staffordshire in 1949, David Jephcott lives in Shropshire with his wife Ann and close to his two daughters and grandson.
